Unlike dry-type units, a water-lubricated compressor has a closed water circuit. Keeping it clean is the main upkeep task.
1. Water quality — use the specified quality (softened/de-mineralized per CMN spec); hard water scales the circuit.
2. Filtration — replace line/water filters on schedule.
3. Bacterial control — biocide or UV per CMN guidance; test periodically.
4. Star wheels — inspect wear; water-lubricated wheels wear gradually and predictably.
5. Seals & bearings — scheduled inspection; low radial load extends life.
6. Drawer/dryer train — if paired, service per ISO 8573-1 target.
Energy dominates (~70–76 % per ENERGY STAR). Water treatment and star-wheel replacement are small, predictable items versus dry-type coating reapplications at overhaul.
Running on untreated town water → scaling → efficiency loss → premature wear. Follow the CMN water spec.
